Meditation

Wuji Qigong  Meditation- sit or stand 5-20 minutes

  • wuji stance hands on side
  • feet shoulder width apart, knees open
  • shoulders relax, drop eyelids, mind quiet, watching & thinking
  • tip of tongue to roof of mouth behind upper teeth
  • breathe in thru nose & breathe out thru nose with diaphragm not chest
  • focus on breathing & relaxing on abdomen, from the inside
  • open arms, check tip of fingers
  • can do visualization
    • visualize sitting on rock on top of mountain; focus on horizon as continue breathing, 
    • visualize floating in air, gentle breeze around

Hunyuan Qigong  Meditation – stand 5-20 minutes

  • embrace the dantian
  • wuji stance hands on dantian (women – right hand over left; men – left hand over right) Dantian – 3 fingers below the navel
  • laogong connected inside
  • feet shoulder width apart, knees open, shoulders relax
  • drop eyelids, mind quiet, watching & thinking
  • tip of tongue to roof of mouth behind upper teeth
  • focus on breathing & relaxing on abdomen

Gather energy – preparation for sitting position meditation

  • breathe in as open arms to side – opening channel
  • breathe out all air as slowly lower arms
  • breathe in as raise hands palms up
  • breathe out as expand arms outward from chest level to side palms up – open up the joint
  • breathe in as bring arms to center of chest, hands facing outward
  • breathe out as lower arms to lap or the side

Standing meditation

  • wuji stance, hands on sides or on dantian
  • elbow nice & round, not straight
  • embrace & round shoulder
  • fingers warm, feel chest clear & full, feet light, balance & comfortable
  • mind is quiet
  • loosen all joints of ankles, knees, hips, spine, shoulders, elbows, wrist & fingers
  • don’t lock any joints
  • when joints are loosened, shoulders naturally relax & elbows drop softly
